Currently watching possibly the funniest match I've seen out of Chif and Rachel Summerlyn. Link: http://tinyurl.com/yfsx6ll

Great match, by the way. :)

You know women's wrestling is good if it's in Japan. That Dynamite Kansai could make a good Shimmer addition, they should look into it and fast since she's nearly 40 and how knows when she'll hang it up.

Currently watching Chif's match with Mia Martinez from April 18th. Havn't seen it through yet, but hey! It can't possibly be bad. :P

(If you can deal with somewhat crappy audio (and a fan cam video), enjoy the match here: http://tinyurl.com/yah82ca )

Watching another one of those "Chif Abroad" sort of matches.

Chif vs. Kyoko Kimura. Not a terrible match. Was for Wrestle Expo 2006. Severely cut, presumably for time.

Couple highlights, for me at least, were the scream match at the beginning and the ending (intentional landing of Desecrator on chain? It could happen).

Edit as of 9:30 PM - Chif Vs. Sean Vincent from GCW's Holiday Havoc 06':
Part 1: http://tinyurl.com/yhhtqao
Part 2: http://tinyurl.com/yjrrfkf

Great match, overall.

I'll tell you what I regret watching. Monday Night Raw last week. I kept switching back and forth between the Saints/Patriots game, so my attention wasn't kept on it fully to begin with. But, I just remember being bored when I watched Raw. The first twenty minutes was the DX/Big Show and Jericho promo. I know you're trying to create hype for one of the main events for a PPV, but holy shit, you don't need twenty minutes. If I remember correctly, they came back form commercial around 9:22 and then the first match started. Then, the first match was a Divas match. I felt like the first half hour was completely worthless. I know not to expect good in ring wrestling from WWE, but that show was not entertaining or compelling in the least. I've never felt that bored by wrestling before.

RAW has been shite for a long time, and I almost never watch it because it pisses me off 90% of the time when I do. The Jessie Ventura week was pretty awesome, and of course that sucks people in. Until the garbage-fest the next week. . .

I have been getting my hands on smackdown 2002, though - I am very excited to finally watch the smackdown six era, and the random clips I have been sampling (to test the VQ of the downloads) have already been crazy fun. Jericho - damn, that guy has been great since WCW, and 2002 shows him just as good as 2009 as 1999. He's easily the most consistently entertaining guy on the mic and in the ring that they have.

(SD, ECW, and Superstars are generally good nowadays, but RAW not so much.)

Portland Wrestling at it's best. JT Evans is a freaking awesome heel.

Post Re: What are You Watching?
Last night, I watched the Christian/Shelton ladder match that everyone said stole the show. And it WAS good. Christian is excellent, but Shelton just lacks storytelling skills. He moved in slow motion waiting to set up his spots, and he never really created any drama that christian didn't drag him into. There were some really cool spots, though.

It was further emphasized when I watched two matches right after on wweclassics.com -- Mankind vs Rock (Ladder - RAW, 2.15.99) and Bob Backlund vs Pat Patterson (Cage, 1979). They were 20 years apart in very different eras. In both of these matches, every move had a purpose. They made you really care about the action. When they both stopped, it was clear that serious exhaustion/damage had occurred -- so that when the guy gets up from the floor or the mat, you know it's with a supreme effort. Two of the best matches I have watched in a long time.

It may not be fair to compare this week's match to four of the greatest of all time. But everyone says this match stole the show. If so, then it must have been a really crappy PPV (I have only watched this one and the Mickie match, which was decent but not awesome, just like the ladder match). Also, Michael Cole is just really lame, but that's not the fault of the rasslers themselves.

I enjoyed the bejeezus out of the Desmond Wolfe vs. Chris Daniels match from the most recent Impact.

Two technically savvy wrestlers trying to athletically outwit each other over the course of ten minutes--it reminded me a wee bit of the very little I've seen (and loved) of World of Sport.

The crowd seemed to genuinely get into this refreshing change of pace (slowed-down, deliberate action) from TNA, and Taz truly acquitted himself well as he called the match and analyzed the exchanges.

That was a very good TV match, I agree. I gotta vent on something, though. It's such a pet peeve of mine. I wish they wouldn't refer to Nigel's hammerlock Divorce Court as a "hammerlock take down." I am shocked that they didn't change the names of the Tower of London or London Dungeon to something stupid, though.

Watching some more Chikara goodness: http://tinyurl.com/yg6aypv

I couldn't help but laugh at the "Finish Him!" line. :P

Recently watched Chikara's November Season Finale, entitled Three-Fisted Tales, which I definitely recommend as a mighty-fine primer for their "premiere" at the New Alhambra at the end of this month. Wrote an insufferably rambling review of it, if you'd like to have a look, and thanks!

(http://gotnoguts.blogspot.com/2010/01/c ... fists.html).

And I'd indeed be among the markiest marks who ever marked (Funky Bunch notwithstanding) if MsChif turned out to be the BDK faction's eighth member.

Well, I am a true horror film fan. A horror "cinephile" to borrow that term from ENTOURAGE. And I will be watching Carl Theodore Dreyer's classic Danish horror film VAMPYR.

Just got done watching the re-make of THE CRAZIES & was actually surprised at how good that film was. This may be blasphemic to any George Romero fans here, but I actually thought the re-make was better than the original.

Just got me hands on Lucio Fulci's A LIZARD IN A WOMAN'S SKIN (UNA LUCERTOLA CON LA PELLE DI DONNA). I've always wanted to see this little seen Italian giallo. I totally enjoyed his other early giallo/horror film DON'T TORTURE A DUCKLING (NON SI SEVIZIA UN PAPERINO).
